Its basic characteristics are cold winters with heavy rainfall and hot summers with occassional rainy days. The temperature drops significantly during the winter with common frost from November until April. Snowfall and weak sunshine form the usual weather conditions. Winter and autumn are prolonged contrary to spring, while summer is hot.
January is considered to be the coldest month of the year and July, the hottest.
The rainy season starts in October and lasts until March.
Mild storms can occur during the summer months too, which become more common in autumn and less usual in spring.
The first snowflakes make their appearance in January and last until the beginning of April.
It is also worth mentioning that the wind blows from the valleys towards the mountains during the day, but reverse their direction during the night.
